Net Zero

Deadlines for achieving net zero targets are fast approaching - with mounting pressure from shareholders, stakeholders and legislators, do you know how to achieve your decarbonisation goals?

THE ZERO CARBON CHALLENGE

According to research by My Green Lab, 91% of pharmacuetical and biotech businesses do not yet have sustainability commitments that will limit global temperature rise to 1.5°C (in accordance with the 2015 Paris Agreement).

In spite of a near universal desire to decarbonise across the industry, the life science sector in 2021 saw a rise of 15% in tCO2e, reaching 260 million tons per year. This carbon intensity is even greater than traditional high emission industries such as forestry and paper.

Clearly, the challenge is complex. Each business faces unqiue obstacles, but understanding the road to zero is the first step an organisation can make to delivering a healthier future for our planet.

Explore viable opportunities for decarbonisation. These will need to be clearly identified and understood, ranging from quick wins to long-term results.

  • DELIVER RESULTS

Whether it is creating new sustainable building standards or delivering energy-saving projects, identified actions to deliver a Net Zero future must now take place.

  • MONITOR PROGRESS

Perform retrospective analysis and closely scrutinise your progress to ensure you are on course to deliver your ambitious sustainability targets.

  • MAINTAIN MOMENTUM & INNOVATION

Once the original Net Zero objectives have been achieved, the implementation of new and innovative solutions will drive your business beyond Zero, creating a positive impact on our planet.
