EECO2 Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which EECO2 collects, uses, maintains and discloses information collected from users (each, a “User”) of the www.eeco2.com website (“Site”). This privacy policy applies to the Site and all products and services offered by EECO2.

The term ‘EECO2’ or ‘us’ or ‘we’ refers to Energy Efficiency Consultancy Ltd, the owner of the website whose registered office is Suite 9, The Green, Fountain Street, Macclesfield, Cheshire, SK10 1JN . Our company registration number is 5823130. The term ‘you’ refers to the user or viewer of our website.

This Privacy Policy has been updated in line with the new GDPR regulations coming into effect on 25th May 2018.

As is common practice with almost all professional websites this site uses cookies to distinguish individual visitors to our website and to provide a more useful and personalised experience. Cookies are tiny text files that are downloaded to your computer, to improve your experience. This page describes what information they gather, how we use it and why we sometimes need to store these cookies.

You can prevent the setting of cookies by adjusting the settings on your browser (see your browser Help for how to do this). Be aware that disabling cookies will affect the functionality of this and many other websites that you visit. Therefore it is recommended that you do not disable cookies.

Like most websites, this site uses Google Analytics (GA) to track user interaction. We use this data to determine the number of people using our site, to better understand how they find and use our web pages and to see their journey through the website.

Although GA records data such as your geographical location, device, internet browser and operating system, none of this information personally identifies you to us. GA also records your computer’s IP address which could be used to personally identify you but Google do not grant us access to this.

GA makes use of cookies, details of which can be found on Google’s developer guides.

Disabling cookies on your internet browser will stop GA from tracking any part of your visit to pages within this website.

This website also has links to HubSpot, which is a Customer Relationship Management tool, that is linked to this website via each form you may complete. So, if you input your data into the forms (e.g. contact us), HubSpot is able to save this data and ensure the EECO2 team deal with your enquiry in a timely manner.

This section contains details of how we use and store any personal information which you submit to us via our website. We place ultimate care on the handling of personal data and we will never sell, rent or otherwise distribute or make public your personal information.

Should you choose to contact us using the contact form on our Contact us page or via our quick contact form, the data will be collated into an email and sent to us over the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP). Our SMTP servers are protected by TLS (sometimes known as SSL) meaning that the email content is encrypted using SHA-2, 256-bit cryptography before being sent across the internet. The email content is then decrypted by our local computers and devices.

We will use your data to respond to your enquiry as appropriate. The data will be entered into our CRM tool (HubSpot) to ensure that we are notified about your enquiry and able to get back to you. If you have indicated when you submit your enquiry that would like to join our mailing list, we will add you to our mailing database which is held by a third party provider – MailChimp (see below).

If you choose to join our email newsletter, the email address that you submit to us will be forwarded to MailChimp who provide us with email marketing services. We consider MailChimp to be a third party data processor. The email address that you submit will not be stored within this website’s own database.

Your email address will remain within MailChimp’s database for as long as we continue to use MailChimp’s services for email marketing or until you specifically request removal from the list. You can do this by unsubscribing using the unsubscribe links contained in any email newsletters that we send you or by requesting removal via email to info@eeco2.com. When requesting removal via email, please send your email to us using the email account that is subscribed to the mailing list.

If you are under 16 years of age you MUST obtain parental consent before joining our email newsletter.

While your email address remains within the MailChimp database, you will receive periodic (approximately four times a year) newsletter-style emails from us.

EECO2 has the discretion to update this privacy policy at any time in line with legislation or industry developments. When we do, we will revise the updated date at the bottom of this page. We encourage users to frequently check this page for any changes to stay informed about how we are helping to protect the personal information we collect.
