Cleanroom Technology 2020

CLEANROOM TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE 2020

Posted on

EECO2 attended and presented at this year’s virtual Cleanroom Technology Conference.

It was an insightful two days listening to cutting-edge guidance, news and latest industry innovations. EECO2’s Director Keith Beattie presented on the topic of ‘improving quality and compliance in cleanrooms, whilst reducing energy consumption, carbon emissions and cost’.

If you could not attend the 2-day event here are 5 key takeaways.

1. RUBBISH IN = RUBBISH OUT

Data integrity is essential to GMP and making informed decisions. If your data integrity is not already in place, then there is no point taking it any further, therefore a review of data collection tools is crucial for effectiveness.

2. TECHNOLOGY & AUTOMATION

Environmental sampling and monitoring are manual and notoriously prone to error due to the large number of data points, pieces of paper and excel spreadsheets. Technological innovations are now available to automate & optimise these processes to save both time & money.

3. CLEANROOM MONITORING IS KEY

Monitoring of different pressures, temperature and humidity is critical to reducing the risk of out-of-specification conditions, energy usage, carbon emissions and cost with closed loop control being recommend to drive and control output systems.

4. ISO STANDARDS WORTH KNOWING

ISO 14644-16 provides a framework and methodology to better understand how adjusting parameters such as differential pressure and air change rates can provide energy efficiency benefits without risk to quality operational cleanroom performance.

5. ENERGY EFFICIENCY

Up to 70% of cleanroom and pharma manufacturing energy consumption comes from HVAC. Simple changes to air filters, fans and pressure drops can have a significant impact on energy consumption reduction bringing your site and organisation closer to your Scope 1 & 2 targets.

After Keith Beatie’s presentation, there was a live Q&A session to answer any further questions, however, if you want to know more feel free to get in touch.

2019 ISPE EUROPE PHARMA 4.0 CONFERENCE MANCHESTER

Posted on

ISPE comes to Manchester this month, with the Europe Pharma 4.0 Conference. The event will be held at Old Trafford, but there will also be site visits available, giving an insight into the reality of Pharma 4.0. With two days full of informative presentations, interactive sessions and opportunities to network, the event is expected to be a hit with industry experts, decision makers and key suppliers.

The EECO2 team will be exhibiting again this year and look forward to meeting all the delegates interested in energy efficiency and reducing carbon emissions and energy costs!

ISPE confirms that the conference will focus on:

  • How digitalisation will open new horizons to achieve new levels of being connected, with transparency, agility and more productivity due to accurate information for decision making
  • How workplaces change: “Functional Silos” will no longer be needed after digitalisation is successfully implemented
  • How pharma is driven by current industry practice and by globally connected systems: the GXP rules and technical standards will be harmonised globally, mutual recognition of inspections will grow as well as similar enforcement of global rules and standards
