EECO2 was appointed to create a cost-effective plan to reduce energy consumption at the client site, whilst maintaining product quality, compliance & safety.
The client wanted to meet corporate sustainability objectives and improve site cost competitiveness. So, the EECO2 team was brought in to help the client reduce site energy and water costs, consequently lowering emissions and their carbon footprint. The team focused on HVAC energy consumption & water consumption of the site, whilst including, pipework, steam traps, control systems, boilers and chillers into their consideration for energy efficiency projects.
First, the team performed a GEMBA walk around the client site and learned that there were some excellent initiatives (industry best practice) already in place. After a further quality and validation review, the team were able to discuss the impact on site targets.
The team created 200 ideas. 26 of which were ‘just do its’, which means that they can be instantly put into place. 40 were investigations and 44 were evaluated projects which create a roadmap to achieve the 2020 site sustainability goals.
